Abstract: Groupoids have been used lately to study the geometry of singular spaces, such as orbifolds. From a different point of view they are the objects behind generalized symmetries. In my talk I will discuss how this allows us to define twisted and untwisted equivariant K-theory for groupoid actions. A completion theorem and some applications will be discussed.
