Reception of Origen in Gregory of Nyssa
The postdoctoral project deals with the reception of Origen in the works of Gregory of Nyssa. Particular attention is being paid to Gregory's alleged Origenism or Antiorigenism, showing itself either in the specific reception or in the dismissal of the theology of the Alexandrian. Research explicitly points to the strong influence origenistic ideas had on Gregory, but occasionally a „sharp“ distinction has been observed. Given the disparate perspectives in the literature, the reception of the heritage of the Alexandrian in the theology of Gregory must be revaluated in its entirety.
