    Polymer electrolytes for solid-state batteries

    In this project, a structured polymer electrolyte is to be developed for application in lithium metal batteries. For this purpose, asymmetric block copolymers with defined properties will be synthesized. These will be self-assembled into membranes to obtain bicontinuous structures that are both mechanically stable and ionically conductive. These materials have the potential to eliminate the currently existing safety risks of flammable liquid electrolytes and enable the application if lithium metal batteries.
