What is MUIMUN?

A Pakistani delegate dances a sizzling samba with his South African colleague and then enjoys a cool glass of German beer with his French colleague while planning a visit to their new mutual friend from India. What might sound Greek to you is something insiders are quite familiar with. Such intercultural collaboration only exists in Münster, the city of the Peace of Westphalia, and only at MUIMUN!

But what does this unusual abbreviation stand for?

MUIMUN is a student-run organisation and stands for the "Münster University International Model United Nations". It is one of the largest and most successful UN simulation games in Germany and has gained increasing international attention in recent years. In numerous meetings, the participants play the role of diplomats from member states of the United Nations, debate current geopolitical issues from the perspective of their home countries, and subsequently try to find joint solutions to global challenges.
