"Enabling Innovation Münsterland" is a regional consortium whose goal is to advance innovation funding and marketing measures in the Münsterland region. The Münsterland holds great potential in the field of innovation thanks to the outstanding research competence of its universities and the highly specialised, predominantly medium-sized companies in the region. The consortium focuses on improving networking between these two innovation drivers and initiating joint collaborations on innovations. It is working to develop strategic and practical solutions tailored to selected target groups from the business and science fields from different perspectives (technology push and technology pull). The goal of the project is to gain an overview of the region's innovative potentials, promote them and develop a long-term, comprehensive and sustainable innovation strategy for the Münsterland.
The project recently conducted an extensive survey of regional business and experts which identified the central fields of innovation competence. These fields will form the basis of the innovation promotion strategy "Enabling Innovation", the purpose of which is to support special areas of competence in the region and build on their potential. The survey identified five fields of innovation competence for the Münsterland: Digital Solutions, Life Sciences, Engineering Pro, Materials & Surfaces and Sustainable Eco.
