„Enabling Innovation Münsterland“ ist ein regionales Verbundprojekt, welches die regionale Innovationsförderung und -vermarktung im Münsterland voranbringen möchte.

Die für das Münsterland besonderen Potenziale ergeben sich aus einer ausgeprägten regionalen Forschungskompetenz an den Hochschulen und den hoch spezialisierten, meist mittelständischen, Wirtschaftsunternehmen in der Region. Die noch bessere Vernetzung dieser beiden Innovationstreiber und das gemeinsame Arbeiten an Innovationen stehen im Mittelpunkt des Projektes. Im weiteren Verlauf werden strategische und praktische Lösungsansätze entwickelt, die sich den unterschiedlichen Zielgruppen aus Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven (technology push und technology pull) annähern. Projektziel ist es, regionale Innovationskompetenzen zu erfassen, zu fördern und eine langfristige, ganzheitliche und nachhaltige Innovationsstrategie für das Münsterland zu entwickeln.

The project recently conducted an extensive survey of regional business and experts which identified the central fields of innovation competence. These fields will form the basis of the innovation promotion strategy "Enabling Innovation", the purpose of which is to support special areas of competence in the region and build on their potential. The survey identified five fields of innovation competence for the Münsterland: Digital Solutions, Life Sciences, Engineering Pro, Materials & Surfaces and Sustainable Eco.
