Preise der Prinz-von-Asturien-Stiftung
The Prince of Asturias Awards aim to reward the scientific, technical, cultural, social and humanistic work carried out at an international level by individuals, institutions or groups of individuals or institutions and are conferred in eight different categories:
- Arts
- Literature
- Social Sciences
- Communication and Humanities
- Technical and Scientific Research
- International Cooperation
- Concord
- Sports.
Nominees should be outstandingly exemplary and their work or contribution should be of acknowledged international standing in each of the categories that the Awards comprise. Each Prince of Asturias Award comprises a diploma, an insignia, a Joan Miró sculpture representing and symbolising the Awards and a cash prize of 50,000 euros. Should the award be shared, this amount shall be divided equally amongst the laureates. Potential candidates cannot nominate themselves.
