Welcome Centre for visiting academics
Münster University’s Welcome Centre is a service provided for researchers who come to Münster, as well as for their host institutes. Visiting academics and their families can get in touch with the Welcome Centre before they come to Germany if they have any questions regarding administrative or practical issues. The Centre will provide support in preparing and managing their stay in Münster.

Formalities
Anyone who would like to come to Münster for a research stay must note one or two things before and after their arrival in Münster: Is a visa needed? Where can I live? Where do I have to register? The Welcome Centre provides assistance on all these questions.Further information on formalities

Financial support
Funding a stay in Münster can be organized for visiting academics in a variety of ways. In addition to scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service, Münster University also has its own funding scheme. Further information on funding

Bringing the family
Münster University is certified as being a family-friendly university. For example, it offers childcare facilities free of charge for the children of visiting academics. The Family Service Bureau also makes arrangements for childcare during the school holidays.More information on bringing the family

Accommodation
It’s not all that easy to find accommodation in Münster. For this reason the university offers visiting academics help in finding accommodation or gives them the opportunity to live in one of the university’s guesthouses.
