Checklist for applicants from non-EU countries
You should note the following when you make your application for a Bachelor/State Examination/Diploma course at Münster University:
1. Applicants need a university entrance qualification.

2. Anyone wanting to embark on a course of study at Münster University must have an adequate knowledge of German. Evidence of linguistic competence can be provided after the deadline for applications. The Registrars Office can tell you the exact date any time up to around four weeks before applications finish. Anyone who does not have an adequate knowledge of German can acquire it in language courses here at Münster University.

3. You will need to apply for all types of degree at Münster University. Applications can only be made via the online applications portal. This applies to applications for first and or higher semesters of courses with both restricted and unrestricted access. You should print out your online application twice, as a separate printout may be useful when you apply for a visa. Please note Point 7 of the checklist on further documents to be submitted – and please read the technical notes.

Places in higher semesters of courses with restricted access can only be awarded if there is free capacity.

5. For all Non EU applicants there are certain deadlines to be observed when applying to Münster University.

6. All applicants may only apply for a maximum of three courses of study. These courses are to be indicated in the online application in order of preference. This order of preference is binding.
7. Before the deadline for applications you must send a signed printout of your online application, together with all necessary documents, to the University of Münster. The following documents are required:
- Evidence of an adequate knowledge of German (see Point 2 of this checklist)
- A CV containing no gaps
- Evidence of university entrance qualification in the form of an appropriate school-leaving certificate from a foreign school; if necessary, a university entrance examination, record of studies or relevant examination from a Studienkolleg
- Signed printout of your online application
8. All documents must be provided in the form of officially certified copies. Official certification can be provided by any public authority that has an official seal, e.g. municipal authorities, embassies, consulates or notaries. In the case of foreign-language documents, an official translation of these will also be required – in German, English or French.

10. If your application has been successful you must enrol, either in person or by post, at the Registrars Office. The notification of acceptance, which will be sent to you by post, contains all the information necessary for enrolment
11. Tuition fees are not levied at the University of Münster. However, a semester charge (the "Semesterbeitrag") of currently 210 euros has to be paid by all students every semester.
