Checklist for applicants from EU countries
You should note the following when you make your application for a Bachelor/State Examination/Diploma course at Münster University:
1. Applicants need a university entrance qualification or corresponding documents from their home country.

2. An adequate knowledge of German is required for any application. This can be subsequently acquired in language courses but evidence of adequate German must be provided when you enrol, at the latest.

3. You will need to apply for most courses at Münster University. Applications can only be made via the online applications portal. This applies to applications for first or higher semesters of courses with restricted access. Please read the technical notes relating to the applications portal.

Places in higher semesters of courses with restricted access can only be awarded if there is free capacity. Applications are not necessary for subjects with unrestricted access, and applicants can simply enrol online.

6. Applications for the subjects medicine, pharmacy and dentistry can only be made via hochschulstart.de

For subjects with restricted access, the signed printout of your online application and the certificate providing evidence of your university entrance qualification must both be submitted before the relevant deadline for applications. Applicants who do not hold a German university entrance qualification must provide a translation in German, English or French. The signed online application must then be sent to the University of Münster. The following documents are also required:
8. All documents must be provided in the form of officially certified copies. Official certification can be provided by any public authority that has an official seal, e.g. municipal authorities, embassies, consulates or notaries. In the case of foreign-language documents, an official translation of these will also be required – in German, English or French.
- Evidence of adequate knowledge of German
- Evidence of university entrance qualification in the form of an appropriate school-leaving certificate from a foreign school; if necessary, a university entrance examination, record of studies or relevant examination from a Studienkolleg
- Signed printout of your online application
- Certificate of exmatriculation (if applicant has already followed a course of study)

10. Applicants may only apply for a maximum of three courses of study. These courses are to be indicated in the online application in order of preference. This order of preference is binding.

11. If your application has been successful you must enrol, either in person or by post, at the Students Secretariat. The notification of acceptance, which will be sent to you by post, contains all the information necessary for enrolment.
12. After your enrolment Münster University levies a social contribution fee every semester (the so called "Semesterbeitrag"). It currently amounts to 210 euros. We do not charge additional tuition fees.
