Important Information:

On this page you will find information on how to find accommodation. Please start your search early, as there is a high demand for accommodation in Münster and the WWU has no halls of residence.

To apply for a room in one of the houses in Lilienthalweg or Schlesienstraße, please fill out the application form and send it to the email address mentioned below. Information concerning the rooms are provided in the following pdf: Schlesienstraße / Llilienthalweg

Halls of Residence  

Exchange students can apply to the Münster Students Support Services for a place in a hall of residence. The online application form can be found on the Students Support Services website (Studentenwerk), but first you have to register.

  • How to apply

    (Unfortunately, the application form is only available in German.)

    • Under 'Bewerbungsverfahren' (left-hand column) and then 'Online-Bewerbung' you can apply for a room in one of the students residence halls once you have registered.
    • Please specify 'Austausch' in the section 'Aufnahmeantrag'.
    • We recommend you to choose 1 March (summer semester) or 1 September (winter semester) as the desired date to move in. So, you will be able to participate in the Welcome Week.
    • Please consider the semester dates when choosing the desired time of the rental contract. Exams can take place up to four weeks after lectures end. After your application the Studentenwerk will send you emails once a month in which you are asked to confirm your application for a room. Please do so by clicking on the link.
  • You received a room offer? What to do next?

    • If a room is available you will receive approximately two month before your rental period an offer by email.
    • If you wish to confirm the offer please answer within the mentioned deadline.
    • BE AWARE: if you deny the room offer your application will automatically be deleted!
    • You will have to transfer the first monthly advance payment and the deposit. The required bank data are indicated in the rental contract.
    • Please send back the rental contract by post.

Halls of Residence of the Episcopalian Student Union Muenster

The Episcopalian Student Union (Bischöfliches Studierendenwerk) owns five halls of residence in the city of Münster. Altogether there are 380 places for students.
