Cluster of Excellence
"Religion and Politics"
The Cluster of Excellence "Religion and Politics in the Cultures of the Pre-Modern and Modern Eras” deals with the sensitive relationship between religion and politics that has characterized all epochs and cultures. It is the largest research alliance of its kind in Germany. As part of the excellence initiative pursued by the federal government and the federal states the German Research Foundation has extended the funding for a second period until 2017.

"Cells in Motion"
"Cells in Motion" brings together the fields of Cellular Biology and Molecular Imaging and aims at providing sustained progress for biomedical basic research, clinical applications in diagnostics and therapy and the interaction between theory and practice. As part of the excellence initiative pursued by the federal government and the federal states, "Cells in Motion" will be funded for 5 years until 2017.
