- Prof. Gerhard Erker
Prof. Gerhard Erker has been a member of the Münster University Council since March 2008. He was born in 1946 in Oberhausen and studied chemistry in Cologne. In 1973 he took his PhD in Bochum, where he was also made a professor in 1981.
From 1985 to 1990 he taught at the University of Würzburg and since then he has been a professor at the Institute of Organic Chemistry at Münster University. The recipient of numerous prizes, Prof. Erker was President of the Society of German Chemists in 2000 and 2001 and since 2002 he has been a member of the German Research Foundation.
