WWU Münster sees gender equality as an important strategic task. Since 2008 the university has been certified in a "family-friendly audit". The aim is to make it easier for women to combine an academic career with having a family. The fact that Münster is a highly liveable city also helps in recruiting brilliant researchers of both sexes.
