Sophos
Sophos provides Sophos Anti-Virus (SAV) and Sophos Endpoint Security Control (SESC), a protection against viruses and malware.
Virus protection is obligatory within the network of the university
According to agreements of the university`s administration, antivirus programs have to be installed on all official and private computers of staff and students, if these are also used for access to the university network.
It is recommended to students and staff to use the SAV software which is placed at the disposal here. Sophos can and should also be installed on private computers. For official computers, the guidelines of the responsible IT support unit (IVV) have to be fulfilled.
Download and installation
Münster University offers an installation package for Windows Vista/XP/7/8 which only needs to be started. In this case, an installation manual is not necessary.
