Who can contact the software support?
Every undergraduate and postgraduate student of the WWU.
Do I have to pay for the support?
The software support is financed by tuition fees and is thus free of charge.
Which programs does the support include?
We answer questions about the programs Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Indesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Unfortunately, we cannot answer any questions about other programs.
Which information does the software support need in order to answer my questions quickly?
We need information about your operating system (e.g. Windows) as well as your program version (e.g. Office 2000 or 2010). Furthermore, we need a precise description of your problem. Take the following questions as an orientation:
- What is your aim?
- Which steps have you already taken in order to reach this aim?
- At which step does the problem occur?
- What exactly is the problem?
What kind of problems does the software support deal with?
We offer support with application problems arising in your project. We do not, however, answer any basic questions about programs, their functions or applications. For such questions, please consult the training manuals of the ZIV.
How do I get help for my problem?
Describe your problem in the contact form and send it to us. You will then get an automatic reply. In the reference line you will find your ticket number. The answer to your question will also be mailed to you.
Can I attach my document or a screen shot?
Yes, you can, but not together with the contact form. You may send the attachment as a reply to the automatic confirmation mail. Please make sure that your ticket number is in the reference line. That way it is easier for us to allocate your inquiry.
I have entered my inquiry in the contact form and have not received a reply yet. Did you receive my email?
If you have not received an automatic reply with your ticket number, check your spam folder. If your mailbox is not full, there might be a mail transmission error. In this case, please repeat your inquiry.
Is it possible to contact you by phone or in person?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer any telephone or personal support.
Where else can I get help?
In the student scripts of the ZIV training sessions. Every WWU student has free access to them in the Learnweb (Moodle). Log in with your university ID and register for the course „ZIV Software training“. All the student scripts are filed there as PDFs. If you want to take part in one of the training sessions, you can get information and register on our pages.
