Paper
With Print&Pay Print&Pay, the ZIV enables many students (and staff) to print their documents on ZIV printers at Einsteinstraße 60. The costs for the prints are low, while the quality is high. The ZIV has since the 1970s consistently used recycled paper for standard prints in its high-speed printers with fanfold paper (about 4-5 million pages per year). This demand has decreased considerably, as nowadays most people prefer A4 single-sheet printing.
Since 2003, the single- sheet standard print (80 g/m²) has been made on white recycling paper supplied by Muenster University (about 2.5 million sheets per year). It carries the eco-label "Blue Angel".
Fresh-fibre paper is only used for the production of high-quality prints in A4 or A3 format (100 g/m²) on the central colour laser printers and for posters on the large format printers (e.g. for dissertations, colour images or graphics).
Recycling
In collaboration with the initiative WWUmwelt (WWUenvironment) the ZIV has placed a recycling box in the foyer of the building Einsteinstraße 60, where optical record mediums (CDs, DVDs) that are no longer needed can be discarded.
