Am Zentrum für Islamische Theologie der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine
W1-Juniorprofessur für Islamische Normenlehre und deren Methodologie
zu besetzen. Die Ernennung ist zunächst auf drei Jahre befristet. Bei positiver Evaluierung wird das Dienstverhältnis um weitere drei Jahre verlängert.
Die zukünftige Stelleninhaberin/ der zukünftige Stelleninhaber soll den Bereich „Islamische Normenlehre und deren Methodologie“ in voller Breite und in seiner geschichtlichen Entwicklung in Forschung und Lehre vertreten. Zu den Aufgaben der Professur gehören die Durchführung von Lehrveranstaltungen, die Betreuung von Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten sowie von Promotionen und die Unterstützung der Professur für Islamische Religionspädagogik beim Aufbau des Zentrums für Islamische Theologie in Münster.
Die Professur ist dem Centrum für Religiöse Studien an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität zugeordnet. Diese Zuordnung zieht eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit den übrigen Bereichen des Centrums für Religiöse Studien nach sich: dem Zentrum für Islamische Theologie, der Juniorprofessur für Judaistik und der Professur für Orthodoxe Theologie. Eine anteilige Übernahme von Dienstaufgaben des Centrums wird vorausgesetzt.
Einstellungsvoraussetzungen sind ein abgeschlossenes, fachlich einschlägiges Hochschulstudium, die besondere Befähigung zu vertiefter selbstständiger wissenschaftlicher Arbeit, die in der Regel durch eine einschlägige überdurchschnittliche Promotion ausgewiesen wird und der Nachweis pädagogischer Eignung. Bisherige Promotions- und Beschäftigungsphasen als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin bzw. wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter oder wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft sollen insgesamt sechs Jahre nicht überschritten haben.
Sind zusätzliche wissenschaftliche Leistungen im Sinne von § 36 Abs. 1 Nr. 4 des Hochschulgesetzes im Rahmen einer Juniorprofessur, einer Habilitation oder einer Tätigkeit als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin bzw. wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an einer Hochschule oder einer außeruniversitären Forschungseinrichtung oder im Rahmen einer wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeit im Bereich der Islamischen Theologie im In- und/oder Ausland erbracht worden, kann diese Stelle auch direkt als W2-Professur besetzt werden.

The Centre for Islamic Theology at the University of Münster in Germany offers as of the next possible date the following position:
W1-Professorship for Islamic Legal Standards and Methodology
The appointment will be limited to three years initially, which will be extended for three further years in case of a positive evaluation.
The successful candidate is expected to cover the whole academic scope of “Islamic Legal Standards and Methodology” and to represent this field adequately in research and teaching. The tasks of the Professorship include teaching in lectures and/ or seminars of four hours per week (in-term) during the first phase and five hours per week in the second phase as well as supervising theses for bachelor and master degrees and doctoral dissertations. The successful candidate is also required to assist the Professor for Islamic Religious Education in the further development of the Centre for Islamic Theology in Münster.
The Professorship is attached to the Centre for Religious Studies at the University of Münster. This includes a close cooperation with the other Chairs of the Centre, Islamic Religious Education, Judaic Studies and Orthodox Theology. A proportionate contribution towards the administrative duties at the Centre for Religious Studies is expected.
Candidates must hold a university degree in a field relevant to the remit of the Chair from an acknowledged university, show capability to engage in independent scholarly research (normally proven through an above-average doctoral degree in a relevant field) and proof of pedagogical suitability. The total time spent either as a doctoral candidate or in employment as a research or teaching assistant (excluding employment at student or post-doctoral level) should not exceed six years.
If a candidate can show additional academic achievements within the meaning of § 36 Section 1 No. 4 of the Higher Education Act (Hochschulgesetz) in Germany or abroad as part of a junior professorship, a habilitation, work as a research assistant at a university or other research institution or as part of scholarly work in the field of Islamic Theology a direct appointment as a W2 professor is possible.
