With our research we investigate possibilities to promote the development of children through motion, play and sports, connected to the question as to how to support an ideally lifelong commitment in sports within various fields.

Project Week on “Racket Games"

Students of the VP “Playing in and with Control Structures - Racket Games" of Eike Boll performed various racket games with pupils of the introductory phase of the higher secondary school Dionysianum in Rheine. Occasion for the project was the higher secondary school's project week about sports. Beachvolleyball was in the focus of the project days. In addition, students planned and performed units regarding the popular trend sports Cross-Badminton and TAM Beach.

Anneke Langer participates at the summer school "From a Teaching Position into Educational Research!"

Anneke Langer (Department of Motion, Play & Sports in Childhood) participated at the BMBF funded Summer School "From a Teaching Position into Educational Research! - Research Methods, Tools and Perspectives", which took place from 1.-5-08.2016 in the Protestant Augustinian Monastery, Erfurt. In total 40 junior researcher (out of 150 applicants) from various fields in didactics were trained in quantitative and qualitative research methods and received personal coaching for their dissertation projects. This summer school was the beginning of a triennial dissertation support within the corresponding fields of didactics.

Article published in the Journal of "Motion and Sports" (Bewegung und Sport)

March 2016 the article of JProf. Dr. Miriam Seyda with the title “Potentials of a Self-Concept Promotion in Adolescents in and through Physical Education" (Potenziale einer Selbstkonzeptförderung von Heranwachsenden in und durch Schulsport) was published in the journal of “Motion and Sports" ("Bewegung und Sport").

Article accepted with the title "Chronically ill Schoolchildren in inclusive Physical Education" (Chronisch erkrankte Schülerinnen und Schüler im inklusiven Schulsport)

In February 2016 the article titled "Chronically ill Schoolchildren in inclusive Physical Educationt" (Chronisch erkrankte Schülerinnen und Schüler im inklusiven Schulspor), written in collaboration with Prof. Dr. B. Gebhard (HS Nordhausen), has been accepted for publication in M. Giese's & L. Weigelt's published book "Inclusive physical eduction and exercise. Theory and Praxis from a Funding Priority Perspective" (Inklusiver Sport- und Bewegungsunterricht. Theorie und Praxis aus der Perspektive der Förderschwerpunkte).

Article accepted for publication in the "Journal of Educational Science" ("Zeitschrift für Erziehungswissenschaft")

In January 2016 the article titled "Does it also work with the Mouse? Online Survey in the Youth Research" (Geht's auch mit der Maus? Online-Befragung in der Jugendforschung) was accepted for publication in the "Journal of Educational Science" ("Zeitschrift für Erziehungswissenschaft").

Publication in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Erik Meier (WWU Münster)

In December 2015 the article titled "Relations between social inequalities and effects of increased supply of physical education on children´s health – a longitudinal study on elementary schools im Journal of Physical Education and Health - Social Perspective" was published. JProf. Dr. Miriam Seyda published the article in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Erik Meier (WWU Münster).

Presentation of further preliminary "Flic-Flac-Kids" results

On November 18, 2015 JProf. Dr. Miriam Seyda presented further preliminary results of the project "Flic-Flac-Kids" conducted at the Kardinal-von Galen Primary School at the coordination meeting of the project sponsors in the communal centre in Warendorf.

Article accepted in the "Journal of Pedagogical Research in Sports" ("Zeitschrift für Sportpädagogische Forschung")

In October 2015 the article titled "Sustainability in the Evolution of Physical Education? An exploratory analysis"  ("Nachhaltigkeit in der Schulsportentwicklung? Eine exemplarische Analyse") was accepted for publication in the "Journal of Pedagogical Research in Sports" ("Zeitschrift für Sportpädagogische Forschung"). The article was authored in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Jörg Thiele (TU Dortmund).

Lecture at the 28th annual conference of the German Association of Sports Sciences ("dvs")

May 2, 2015 JPorf. Dr. Miriam Seyda gave a lecture at the 28th annual conference of the German Association of Sports Scieneces ("dvs") in Bochum for the section of sports pedagogy with the topic "Coherences in Sports, Physical Characteristics and Body Awareness and its Meaning for the Self-Esteem in Adolescents". This lecture was the beginning of the joint working group with Prof. Dr. E. Grimminger E & B. Zander (TU Dortmund) with the topic "Body and Sports in Adolescents - Empricial Findings and Sportdidactical Impulses".
