Research projects
The Department of Sport Psychology deals in particular
- with expertise in sport i.e. cognitive strategies of athletes and coaches, perception and motor control
- with social-psychological aspects in sports i.e. self-concepts of athletes and spectators, perception of risk during school sport, influence of spectators on performance, and home field advantage.
- and with questions concerning diagnostics and research methodology in sport psychology.
Our research has been and is still supported by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG), the German Federal Institute of Sports Science (Bundesinstitut für Sportwissenschaft, BISp), and the Communal Accident-Insurance Alliance of Westphalian-Lippe (Gemeindeunfallversicherungsverband Westphalen-Lippe, GUVV).
