Graduate School and Postdoctoral Programme
The Cluster of Excellence “Religion and Politics” maintains a Graduate School and a Postdoctoral Programme for the promotion of junior researchers and of the unity of research and teaching. The institutions offer junior researches the independent participation in interdisciplinary research. In addition, they also support focused and structured doctoral or postdoctoral studies concerning the conflicting interests of religion and politics.
The Graduate School has been offering doctoral students from the Humanities and the Social Sciences an interdisciplinary Doctoral Studies Programme since 2007. From the beginning of the winter semester 2013-2014, the institute will commence the programme for the second funding stage of the Cluster of Excellence. Professors and mentors of the research association will undertake the supervision.
In the Postdoctoral Programme, which came into being at the beginning of the Cluster of Excellence’s second funding stage in 2012 as a novel format, researchers with an outstanding doctoral degree find their own platform for exchange in overlapping research questions. They also benefit from common activities and skill enhancement in higher education didactics. In addition, the Postdoctoral Programme invites guest researchers to the Cluster of Excellence.
