W3-Professur für Didaktik der Mathematik mit dem Schwerpunkt Primarstufe

zu besetzen.

Gesucht wird eine hervorragend ausgewiesene Persönlichkeit mit Forschungsschwerpunkt im Bereich der Primarstufe, die die Didaktik der Mathematik am Institut für grundlegende und inklusive mathematische Bildung in Forschung und Lehre vertritt.

Es wird vorausgesetzt, dass der/die Stelleninhaber*in die bestehenden Forschungsschwerpunkte am Institut für grundlegende und inklusive mathematische Bildung sinnvoll ergänzt und das vorhandene Lehr-Lern-Labor zur Förderung mathematisch begabter Kinder forschungsbasiert weiterführt. Gewünscht wird hier der Bezug zur fachdidaktischen Entwicklungs- und Transferforschung in der Primarstufe.
Der/Die Stelleninhaber*in ist vor allem für den Bachelor- und Masterstudiengang für das Lehramt an Grundschulen im Lernbereich II Mathematische Grundbildung zuständig. Die Bereitschaft zur Mitarbeit in der Lehre für das Lehramt für sonderpädagogische Förderung im Fach Mathematik der Klassen 1-10 sollte vorhanden sein.

Voraussetzung für die Einstellung sind fundierte mathematische Kenntnisse, eine einschlägige Promotion sowie darüber hinaus gehende zusätzliche wissenschaftliche Leistungen im Bereich der Mathematikdidaktik mit Bezug zur Primarstufe, die im Rahmen einer Juniorprofessur, einer Habilitation oder einer Tätigkeit als wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in an einer Hochschule oder außeruniversitären Einrichtung oder im Rahmen einer wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeit in Wirtschaft, Verwaltung oder in einem anderen gesellschaftlichen Bereich im In- und Ausland erbracht worden sind.

Erfolge bei der Einwerbung von Drittmitteln werden ebenso wie umfangreiche Lehrerfahrungen im Bereich der Primarstufe vorausgesetzt. Eine mehrjährige Unterrichtstätigkeit an Schulen oder anderweitigen pädagogischen Einrichtungen ist wünschenswert.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science (FB 10) at the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, seeks to fill the following position at the earliest possible date:

W3-level professorship in mathematics education with focus on primary education

We are looking for a highly distinguished academic with research specialisation in the area of primary education to represent mathematics education at the Institute of Fundamental and Inclusive Mathematics Education in the areas of research and teaching.

We expect the future appointee to complement the existing research focuses at the Institute of Fundamental and Inclusive Mathematics Education in a meaningful way and manage the Teaching-Learning Lab for the promotion of mathematically gifted children in a research-oriented manner. A focus on subject-related didactic developmental and transfer research in primary education is desired.

The candidate will mainly be responsible for the bachelor’s and master’s teaching degree programmes for primary school-level education in Subject Area II: Mathematical Fundamentals. The candidate should also be willing to provide instruction to students in teaching degree programmes in special needs education in the subject Mathematics for grades 1 to 10.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should have extensive expertise in mathematics, hold a subject-relevant doctoral degree, and possess additional academic qualifications in mathematics education at the primary level, obtained through an assistant professorship (Juniorprofessur), habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant field in Germany or abroad.

Prior success with securing third-party funding and extensive teaching experience in the area of primary school education are required. Several years of practical teaching experience at schools or other educational institutions would be desirable.
