The Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Bielefeld and the Institute of Mathematical Stochastics at the University of Münster are seeking to fill the position of a


Postdoctoral Researcher
Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in
(salary level TV-L E13, 100 %)


starting 1 January 2021 or soon thereafter.

The position is funded within the SPP 2265 „Random Geometric Systems“ for up to 36 months. The successful candidate will join the research groups of Matthias Erbar in Bielefeld and Martin Huesmann in Münster and contribute to the project „Optimal transport for stationary point processes“. The candidate is expected to spend about half of the time in each of both research groups.

Applicants should hold a PhD in mathematics and have a strong mathematical background in analysis and/or probability theory, as well as good English skills.

We offer an interesting and challenging position and the opportunity to work in an innovative research project funded by the German Research Council (DFG). The position is full-time and paid in equal parts by the Universities of Bielefeld and Münster according to the Civil Service rates of the German States at TV-L E13.
