As of April 1, 2008, the Institute for Geoinformatics at the University of Münster has an opening for a
Junior Professor (with tenure track)
Our Institute is the first and largest of its kind in Germany. The new faculty colleague will be expected to build and manage a research group, teach two courses each semester (at least 4 hours a week, in German and/or English), advise graduate students, and contribute to administrative duties.
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field and a record of research excellence in an innovative field contributing to Geoinformatics (Geographic Information Science). They should not have been employed as researchers at a German university (wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in or wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft) for more than a total of six years so far.
