Structural Pattern Recognition
Structural pattern recognition uses symbolic data structures such as strings, trees, and graphs to represent the world
of objects and their relationship. Algorithms on these data structures provide powerful tools for a variety of pattern
recognition tasks. Our research efforts in this area are to develop novel algorithms for dealing with strings and
graphs. Some examples are the weighted mean of two strings, the median string/graph, and efficient matching
algorithms for special graph classes.
