Europerox - New Methods and Instrumentation for Selective Peroxide Monitoring in Industrial Processes

The development of new methods and instrumentation for the determination of hydrogen peroxide and peroxyacetic acid was goal of this project. Under coordination of the University of Münster, a consortium of six academic and industrial partners has developed analytical methods to be used in the fields of disinfection in the food and beverages industries, medical sterilization and bleaching of paper, pulp and textiles. Project partners were the University of Ioannina/Greece (Prof. Dr. M.I. Karayannis), Cranfield University/U.K. (Dr. S. Saini), the König Brauerei/Germany (Dr. F. Nitzsche), Miljoe-Kemi A/S/Denmark (S.-A. Linde, P. Mortensen) and Skalar Analytical/The Nethderlands (L. Plevier). The project duration was from October 01, 1997 until September 30, 2000. The results of the project have been published in several original papers and applicants' notes. A workshop dedicated to industrial applicants was held at the University of Münster in September 2000.
