Münster's LROC - Team
Prof. Dr. Harald Hiesinger is the only international co-investigator on the NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) project. Prof. Hiesinger is an expert on the stratigraphy of lunar mare basalts, and plans to continue his detailed studies using the new LROC imagery.
The successful completion of LRO mission objectives depends on the selection and definition of Narrow Angle Camera (NAC) imaging targets on the Moon. Kerstin Klemm is responsible for defining and submitting targets selected by the IfP team.
Dr. Dennis Reiss and Dr. Carolyn van der Bogert are responsible for processing and analyzing images collected by the Narrow Angle Cameras (NAC) and Wide Angle Camera (WAC). Dr. Reiss is an expert on planetary remote sensing data processing and geographic information systems. Dr. van der Bogert is a planetary geologist with a strong background in spectroscopy and impact cratering.

Our Partners
Prof. Hiesinger is a participant in the Brown University-based NASA Lunar Science Institute (NLSI) team.
We also collaborate with Prof. Dr. Jürgen Oberst at the Institut für Planetenforschung at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), who was selected as an LROC Participating Scientist for his project entitled “Studies in Lunar Geodesy and Cartography”.
