Abstract
The magnetic spectrometer BIG KARL is used to get energy calibration fix-points for the external beam of COSY-Julich. These fix-points were obtained by measuring the meson-production reaction pp to pi /sup +/ close to threshold and at the beam momentum, where the forward pions and the backward deuterons have the same momentum.
