Research
I received my master degree in 2006 focusing on synthesis and evaluation of new protein labels for quantitative proteomics based on mass spectrometry. This technique is based on differential isotopic labeling of proteins or peptides derived from two cell states with light or heavy tags and combined and analyzed by mass spectrometer after modification. Based on identical physico-chemical properties of isotopes, the light labeled peptides elute together with their heavy counterparts after separation steps simultaneously into the mass spectrometer. Quantitative analysis could thus be performed by comparing the relative signal intensities of the light and heavy modified peptide in the MS-spectra.
Currently I am making my Ph.D research in the field of bioapplication of zeolite L nanocrystals. First part was focusing on antibodies bioconjugated fluorescent dye loaded zeolite L as a novel label in protein microarray for low quantity analyte detection as illustrated in the scheme below.

Second part is surface modifications of zeolite L nanocrystal and their intracellular uptake activity. Different morphologies and external surfaces of nanoparticles were compared in diverse cell lines. In the overlay of bright field and fluorescent images shown here, the nucleus was stained in green and red dots represented certain type of zeolite L with fluorescent dye. The clear identification of nucleus proved that detected zeolites are inside of cell.
