Leonard Tinker (29) received his B.S. in Chemistry from Beloit College and Ph.D. from Princeton University with Prof. Stefan Bernhard. His Ph.D. research focused on the conversion of light into chemical energy using iridium(III) photosensitizers. He was recently awarded a 1 year fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to study triplet excited state up-conversion in thin films. The research is designed to probe new methods for fabricating organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) that could emit white light using low driving voltages.
