Vita

I was born on April, 23rd in Steinfurt, a small town close to Münster. My childhood I spent in Drensteinfurt, another small town close to Münster, where I went to Kindergarten and primary school. I obtained my Abitur in 2005 at the Kardinal-von-Galen Gymnasium in Münster-Hiltrup. In October 2005 I started my studies in chemistry at the university of Münster. After doing a internship at the BASF in Guaratinguetá (Brazil, SP) in 2009, I finished my studies by submitting my diploma thesis (Luminescent metal complexes. Synthesis and photophysical properties) in March 2010. More precisely I was interested in new platinum(II) emitters for OLED devices.

Research interests

Cell growth, multiplication, and stimulation of processes in spatially confined areas.

We aim to monitor the growth, multiplication and synaptic communication of central neurons. For that purpose monolayers, consisting of zeolite L nanocrystals are produced and functionalized with different adhesive peptides (RGD, Poly-L-lysine, Poly-L,D-ornithine…). After growing central neurons on top of these zeolite L monolayers we aim to monitor single synaptic events triggered by light in spatial defined areas.
