Thesis topics
In our group, we are analyzing atomic reactions on smallest length scales. For this purpose, we run a thin film lab with different ion beam sputtering devices to prepare ultra thin films, a high-resolution, energy-filtered transmission electron microscope, as well as highly specialized tomographic atom probes. Furthermore, we use well-established methods of materials physics, like X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, metallography, electro-chemistry or impedance spectroscopy. Our current topics range from cutting-edge UHV instrumentation, laser-matter interaction, battery systems and electronics to fundamental material physics. An interesting challenge for real scientists. Our laboratories are located in the IG-I, in the battery center of the WWU (MEET) and in the CeNTech.
