Supercomputing: The origin of the universe and elementary particles
Prof. Dr. Zoltán Fodor, Theoretische Teilchenphysik, Bergische Universität Wuppertal |
Elementary particle physics deals with the most fundamental building blocks of nature. In the early universe two (or at least two) transitions happened, which are related to particle physics. The one with the smaller characteristic energy is a broad transition and it is responsible for the visible mass of the universe. The other transition turned out to be a broad transition, too. It determines finally the existence and the amount of matter in the universe. An introduction to particle physics will be given and both transitions will be discussed in some detail.
