Modelling and inversion of electromagnetic data
We are cooperating with the MT group at the GFZ Potsdam and the Bergakademie Freiberg on multi-scale inversion of electromagnetic data in the framework of the project "Multi-EM", which is funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) within the GEOTECHNOLOGIEN Programme.
Electrical crustal structure of the Caledonian Front in Lapland
Magnetotelluric
measurements will be carried out in June/July 2011 across the
Caledonian Front in Lapland to unravel the electric imprint of the
Caledonian orogeny in the crust. We are closely cooperating with the
University Frankfurt. This project is embedded into an international
effort lead by M. Smirnov, Oulu University, Finland, to image the lithosphere
in northern Scandinavia with magnetotellurics.
