Research in Progress
I am currently working on two projects. Together with Richard Whatmore (Intellectual History, Sussex) I am working on an introductiory book to the American political philosopher Judith N. Shklar. A book proposal has been submitted to Chicago University Press.
The second project - still in its early stages -, tries to conceptualise various aspects of the ‘Moral Economy’ in the Basque Country. Theoretical concepts that were first introduced by Albert O. Hirschman are used in order to understand and explain the social contradictions and political conflicts in such areas as economic reform, public life and political involvement. For this project I have applied for research funding.

Membership in Academic and Civic Organisations
British Sociological Association; International Sociological Association; Charter 88; The Tom Paine Headstrong Club (Lewes, East Sussex).
