ZIN-board member Prof.‘in Dr. Sabine Schlacke elected as WBGU chairwoman

On the 22nd of December 2016, the members of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) elected Prof.’in Dr. Sabine Schlacke and Dirk Messner as their co-chairs for the coming two years.

The German Advisory Council on Global Change was set up by the German federal government in 1992 in the run-up to the Rio Earth Summit as an independent, scientific advisory body. The Council’s core task is to analyze global environment and development problems as well as to elaborate recommendations for action and research considering these problems.

WBGU members have been appointed by the German Federal Government on November 9th 2016 until October 31st 2020. Prof.’in Dr. Sabine Schlacke is member of the Council since 2008.
