 Edda Weigand is Professor of Linguistics at the University of Münster/Germany after having been Professor of German in Italy. She is also President of the International Association for Dialogue Analysis (IADA, Bologna). She works mainly in two fields: dialogue analysis and comparative lexical research. On the basis of a general dialogic notion of language ('Sprache als Dialog', rev. ed. 2003) she has written many articles and authored or edited several books on pragmatics, speech act theory, dialogue theory, lexical semantics and other topics. Prof. Weigand was visiting professor at the Università della Svizzera italiana (Lugano) during the academic years 1998/1999 and 1999/2000 and at the University of Santa Barbara (California) in June/July 2002. She was Erasmus coordinator for exchanges with the universitiy of Modena (Italy). |
