Lehre

2002 - heute: über 60 Lehrveranstaltungen wurden an den Universitäten in Santiago, Valdivia, Tucson, Osnabrück und Münster durchgeführt. Insgesamt wurden darunter Vorlesungen, Seminare, Geländeübungen, Laborpraktika und Exkursionen geleitet. In Münster wird seit 2007 das Kolloquium für Master-Absolventen und Doktoranden organisiert und geleitet.

Anleitung zu wissenschaftlichem Arbeiten und Prüfungen

1999 - heute:  Betreuung zahlreicher Kandidaten an den Universitäten in Münster (Deutschland), Santiago de Chile und Valdivia (beide Chile) sowie Tucson (Arizona, U.S.A.). In Münster wurden zahlreiche mündliche und schriftliche Prüfungen abgenommen (Studiengänge Dipl./B.Sc/Ma Landschaftsökologie, B.Sc/Ma Geographie, Lehramt 1F-/2F-Geographie). Die Betreuung von wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten und Prüfungen betrifft die Fächer Landschaftsökologie, Biogeographie, Tierökologie, Vegetationskunde, Physische Geographie, Bodenkunde und Biozönologie.

Beurteilung von Manuskripten und Forschungsvorhaben

1998 - heute:  Funktion als Schiedsrichter („Referee”) zu Manuskripten für zahlreiche Fachzeitschriften aus den Bereichen Landschaftsökologie, Biogeographie, Tierökologie, Biozönologie, Ornithologie, Naturschutz und Geographie (Landscape Online, Journal of Nature Conservation, Acta Ornithologica u.v.m). „Reviews” wurden auch für Forschungsvorhaben von wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaften angefertigt wie CONICYT (Staatliche Forschungsgesellschaft Chiles) und DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft), z.B. für das Emmy Noether-Programm.

Betreuung wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten

Wissenschaftliche Arbeiten werden betreut und Themen nach Absprache vergeben. Die Betreuung kann für wissenschaftliche Arbeiten unterschiedlicher akademischer Ansprüche erfolgen wie Bachelor, Master, Diplom und Promotion. Die Themen liegen zumeist im inhaltlichen Rahmen der oben aufgeführten Disziplinen, im Besonderen der Biogeographie, physischen Geographie, Biozönoloige, Tier- und Landschaftsökologie. Bei Interesse an einem der hier gelisteten Themen oder für ein noch zu entwickelndes anderes Thema vereinbaren Sie bitte einen Termin mit mir per E-Mail oder direkt, in dem die näheren Inhalte und Ziele besprochen werden können. Dies bezieht sich in erster Linie auf die unten vorgeschlagenen (Rahmen-)Themen. Es sind aber auch von Ihnen vorgeschlagene Themen denkbar.
