Chris Kray: Doing the right thing: how location-based services can help solve global challenges

KrayBehaviour change on an individual and on a societal level is a key factor in solving many global challenges such as climate change or sustainability:  If more people use public transport rather than the car, CO2 emissions are reduced.  If more people eat more healthily, some problems linked to ageing are reduced.  But changing established behaviours can be difficult and often, people slip back into old (bad) habits.  Location-based services have a great potential to help with behaviour change, e.g. by providing the right kind of information at the right location and time.  This talk will look at existing approaches, current work and future challenges in this area.
