HISTORY  OF PALAEOZOIC  FORESTS
EARLIEST  SEED  PLANTS


The earliest seed plants were found in Upper Devonian rocks of Belgium (Moresnetia) and the eastern United States (Elkinsia).  In the early seed plants ovules are enclosed by cupules.
