The NRW Graduate School of Chemistry

In October 2001 the International NRW Graduate School of Chemistry (GSC-MS), “Molecular Functional Structures and Solid State Materials”, was constituted at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster with funding from the Ministry of Science and Education of the federal state of Northrhine Westphalia (NRW).

This Graduate School offers a new three-year PhD program in chemistry. Fellowships or other funding are available in several grant programs at our institution, but students with their own funding / fellowship are also encouraged to apply. From 2009 on, a new funding program "NRW Research School" is available to provide stipends to qualified candidates (1250 Euro per month). A high motivation for science and research, as well as an excellent academic record are required for admission. new: GSC-MS Young Scientist Research Award 2009

The Graduate School of Chemistry announces the NRW Young Scientist Award 2009 for an outstanding publication by a student, who has not finished his/her Master degree by the time of the paper submission. Applications from all areas in chemistry are encouraged. The Award is announced in collaboration with other schools in various fields.
