Abstract: We consider the heat equation with Neuman boundary conditions in periodically layered domains with small connections. By homogenization methods the structure of the domain is "translated" into a limiting PDE, which acts on a simpler - homogenized - domain. Among others, memory terms and reduction of dimension result.
