Franz-Delitzsch-Prize

Every year, the Franz Delitzsch Society awards a prize to students who have written a thesis on one (or both) of the following topics:

Christian-Jewish relations in the past and present

Academic research and communication of the history, literature, theology and philosophy of Judaism

Prerequisites

All students who have written their thesis as part of a course at a Protestant theology faculty/department or a Protestant theology institute in Germany are eligible to apply.

The thesis should be written in German or English.

The thesis must not be a final or qualification thesis - there are other prizes for this.

The date on which this work was submitted must not be more than two years ago at the time of application.

The same work may only be submitted once for application.

Application

The written thesis and

a short recommendation from the university supervisor.

The application deadline for the respective year is the end of March.

What happens next?

The work will be assessed by an expert jury.

The winner will be honored on Franz Delitzsch Day in November.

He/she receives the prize of 300 euros in a ceremony and

He/she gives a short introduction to his/her work.
