Dr. Alexander Horstmann

Dr. Alexander Horstmann is currently a Research Fellow and Habilitation candidate at Institute for Ethnology, Westfaelische Wilhelms-University (International Program in Southeast Asian Studies). From Sep. 2001 till Aug. 2002, he had been a Visiting Associate Professor at the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa (ILCAA). He is the author of Class, Culture and Space (PDF-File) and editor of Integration through Diversity (with Guenther Schlee). He is the author of many chapters and articles on south Thailand. His interests cover borderlands in Southeast Asia, religious networks and movements, Buddhist-Muslim Relationships and Identity Politics.

Dr. Ryoko Nishii

Dr. Ryoko Nishii is Associate Professor at Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa (ILCAA), University of Foreign Studies. She is the author of "Death and Practical Religion: Perspective on Muslim-Buddhist relationship in Southern Thailand". She spent 2 years living and researching in a Southern Thai village where Muslims and Buddhists co-exist.
