We process the following personal data when you register for events hosted by Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers (CERes):

  5. Faculty

  7. Structured doctoral programme
  8. Email address
  9. First year of your doctoral or postdoctoral research at the University of Münster
  10. International researcher
  11. Additional information collected through the registration form, such as your language preferences or your hobbies

b) Purpose of data processing

The personal data listed above is processed for the purpose of organising participant-oriented programme at Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers (CERes) (coordination of your participation, preparation, delivery, follow-up, and evaluation of events and services (creating participant lists and certificates of attendance, forwarding data to ensure optimal preparation and follow-up and for possible contact by those delivering the event (instructors, trainers, speakers) before the event); reporting). These data are also collected when registering by telephone or per email.

c) Legal basis for processing personal data

The legal basis for processing your personal data mentioned above by the Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers (CERes) is your consent, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

When registering for events hosted by Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers (CERes) you give your explicit consent to the processing of your personal data listed above for the stated purpose by putting a tick in the box: “I have read the ‘Additional Data Protection Policy for Registration for Events hosted by Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers (CERes)’ and agree with the stated processing of my personal data.”

Your personal data listed above is forwarded to the following recipients within and outside the University of Münster:

  • Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers (CERes) staff; cooperation partners at the University of Münster that are involved in the delivery of the event (e.g., SAFIR Research Funding Support, Welcome Centre)

e) Duration of storage of personal data

Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers (CERes) stores your personal data listed above as long as it needs this data to organise its participant-oriented programme (coordination of your participation, preparation, delivery, follow-up, and evaluation of events and services (creating participant lists and certificates of attendance, forwarding data to ensure optimal preparation and follow-up and for possible contact by those delivering the event (instructors, trainers, speakers) before the event); reporting) but shall not exceed 10 years.

4. Your rights as a data subject

You have the right to information about your personal data processed by the University of Münster (Art. 15 GDPR), the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and the right to withdraw your consent (Art. 7 GDPR).

When you withdraw your consent for processing your personal data listed above by the University of Münster (Schlossplatz 6, 48149 Münster, ceres.events@uni-muenster.de), your personal data and registrations for events hosted by Münster Centre for Emerging Researchers (CERes) will be deleted immediately after the withdrawal. All processing of personal data performed prior to withdrawal remains lawful irrespective of the subject’s withdrawal.
