All the best for your future!

Our team member Dr. Dominik Poniatowski is leaving the Community Ecology Group. We are very grateful for the excellent relationship we enjoyed with him. The Team of the Community Ecology Group wishs him all the best for the future tasks in the DBU association in Osnabrück. We are looking forward to continue the cooperation and are pleasant to appreciate Dominik Poniatowski as external team member. In the future, teaching and tasks in the Community Ecology Group will be performed by Franz Löffler.

Award of the IALE
Dominik Poniatowski was awarded for his PhD thesis “Survival of wing-dimorphic bush-crickets in a changing environment” with the IALE-D Graduate award 2011. The International Association for Landscape Ecology (IALE) has selected the thesis as the best in the field of Landscape Ecology.

Doctoral Scholarship of the DBU ("Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt")
Fabian Borchard was chosen for the doctoral scholarship of the DBU for his PhD thesis "Restoration of upland heathlands". The project aims at an evaluation of restoration success on vegetation and animal communities in upland heathlands.

Congratulations for best research
In an award ceremony of the University of Muenster the best PhD theses were honored. Two members of the Community Ecology Group received an award for their PhD theses with the grade "summa cum laude". We congratulate Dr. Sascha Buchholz and Dr. Dominik Poniatowski for their great research results!
