| FlyMove From the beginning, development of any organism requires a complex interplay of genes to orchestrate the many movements needed to build up an embryo. In the past, work on Drosophila melanogaster has led to important insights often applicable in other systems, too. Thus, in the future knowledge on Drosophila developmental biology will be of fundamental relevance. But especially developmental processes, which take place in space and time, are difficult to convey in textbooks. Here we introduce a new database, http://flymove.uni-muenster.de, combining movies, animated schemata, interactive Shockwaves and pictures that greatly facilitates the direct perception of Drosophila development. |
