GRK 1409: Molecular Interactions of Pathogens with Biotic and Abiotic Surfaces

International Graduate School at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster

The second class of PhD and MD students of the International Graduate Research School ’Molecular Interactions of Pathogens with Biotic and Abiotic Surfaces’ started on January, 1st, 2010.

The Graduate School combines research interests of laboratories from the Departments of Medicine, Biology, and Chemistry to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the interactions of pathogens with cellular barriers and abiotic surfaces. The three year PhD program will provide excellent training and research opportunities in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, infectiology, microbiology, and molecular biomedicine accompanied by an additional soft skills program. The Graduate School extends a continuous educational program including training courses in methods and techniques. Seminars given by leading scientists will foster a broad view on current topics in molecular life sciences. The program encourages close cooperation across scientific disciplines in a stimulating scientific environment.
