    Bacterial metabolism: selected bacterial metabolic pathways

    Strategies for elucidating bacterial metabolism and biotechnological applications

    Bacterial cell-cell interactions: chemical communication (quorum sening, multicellular differentiation), competition between bacteria (formation and effects of antibiotic secondary metabolites), cell aggregation and biofilm formation, biotechnological application of bacterial cell-cell interactions

    "Bacterial metabolism and cell-cell interactions" (8 weeks; joining current research projects in the group)

    • Independent research with a current project of our research group

    Requirements:

    Motivated students with profound knowledge in biochemistry and molecular biology having strong interest in microbial physiology, ecology and biotechnology are highly welcome!

    Contents:

    Scientific and didactic preparation of everyday phenomena; identification of possibilities to carry out illustrative demonstrations and simple experiments in schools.
