greenCAP technologies kick-off meeting: Dr. Sruthi Sreekumar and Dr. Carolin Richter are on their way to founding their start-up company

Today, we had the kick-off meeting for the foundation phase of the biotech start-up ‘greenCAP technologies’, financially supported by a start-up NRW transfer grant. The two prospective founders are our alumnae Dr. Sruthi Sreekumar and Dr. Carolin Richter. They will be supported by their Doktorvater Prof. Bruno Moerschbacher and by the experienced start-up coach Nobert Lemken. The kick-off meeting was hosted in the inviting and stimulating environment of the new Excellence Start-up Center.NRW REACH of the University of Münster which had already successfully supported the application for the start-up grant. This grant will allow Sruthi and Caro to concentrate over the next 18 months on the crucial experimental and administrative steps for the start-up foundation. The first topic on our agenda was to welcome and introduce Norbert Lemken to our team. Having worked for almost twenty years with Bayer Crop Science, last as ‘Director Agricultural Policy‘, he knows all the ins and outs of the market side of our project, and he has a widespread, precious network spanning into different areas which are essential for establishing a successful start-up in the agricultural sector. We started defining in detail the milestones for the coming one-and-a-half years, and we agreed on a monthly jour-fixe to monitor progress and to identify potential problems – no: challenges! – on our way to foundation. It will be an exciting trip towards our new spin-off start-up.
